IV International Internet Olympiad in Informatics Successfully Held in Ashgabat

Today, the IV International Open Internet Olympiad in Informatics was successfully held at the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International University of Oil and Gas, bringing together students from higher education institutions of Turkmenistan and many foreign countries. The event served as an important international platform for demonstrating knowledge and skills in the field of digital technologies.

 

During the opening ceremony, the university rector addressed the participants and wished them success, emphasizing the importance of expanding academic cooperation and international exchange. It was highlighted that the country continues to create broad opportunities for modern education, scientific research, and global collaboration.

 

This year’s olympiad brought together more than 800 students from 57 universities across 16 countries. Participants represented countries such as People’s Republic of China, Russian Federation, Federal Republic of Germany, Republic of Turkey, as well as several Central Asian and other nations, reflecting the event’s strong international character.

 

The competition was held in an online format with the participation of professors and lecturers from leading foreign universities. Students demonstrated their skills in computer science, algorithms, and modern digital solutions.

 

Winners will be awarded diplomas of I, II, and III degrees. Such initiatives contribute to the development of the digital economy and the identification of talented young specialists.

 

The olympiad clearly demonstrates the steady advancement of digital education in Turkmenistan and the growing integration of its youth into the global scientific community.

















Entrance Examinations for Higher and Secondary Vocational Institutions Completed in Turkmenistan

Turkmenistan has officially concluded its admission campaign for higher and secondary vocational educational institutions for the 2026–2027 academic year. Held between July 13 and August 24, 2026, the examination process was conducted under state commission oversight and public supervision. Notably, entrance exams at the S.A. Niyazov Turkmen Agricultural University and the International University of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs were administered using a standardized testing format.

Following the examination results, over 18,000 applicants were admitted to higher education institutions. Under the newly implemented "Strategy for the Development of Higher Professional Education in Turkmenistan for 2026–2052," several new academic tracks were established across specialist, bachelor's, and master's degree levels, aligning with the "Atlas of Future Professions." Priority admission status was granted to international competition winners, top athletes, and high school medalists.
