Ashgabat, October 6 — A delegation of German medical experts visited Turkmenistan’s capital as part of a long-standing cooperation initiative between Turkmenistan and Germany aimed at advancing healthcare services and training local professionals.

During their visit, the professors toured several major facilities, including the International Cardiology Center, where they exchanged expertise with Turkmen doctors. This center has been working closely with German medical teams since 1998, when the first joint cardiac surgeries on both children and adults took place.

The German delegation also visited the Scientific-Clinical Center for Maternal and Child Health, where they explored programs focused on early childhood intervention and development.

The visiting experts praised the professionalism of local specialists and the organization of clinical workflows, highlighting the tangible results of years of collaboration and medical training.

Since 2011, the Turkmen-German Medical Forum has served as a key platform for cooperation between Turkmenistan’s Ministry of Health and the German Senior Expert Service (SES). Over 200 German professors have traveled to Turkmenistan for extended visits, conducting training sessions, workshops, and collaborative consultations.

In turn, many Turkmen healthcare professionals have received advanced training in Germany in fields such as neurosurgery, radiology, angiography, and rehabilitation. The partnership also includes joint scientific studies, such as research on gestational diabetes.

Turkmen medical centers are equipped with advanced technology from renowned German manufacturers, including Siemens, Fresenius, and Hospitalia International, reinforcing the technical depth of the bilateral cooperation.
