Although the main phase of silkworm breeding in Turkmenistan traditionally begins in spring, silk producers in the Dashoguz region remain actively engaged throughout the winter months. Particular attention is currently being paid to preparing incubation facilities where silkworm cocoons are revived. Nearly 70 such facilities are operating across the region, and their technical condition plays a decisive role in determining the quality of future raw materials for Turkmenistan’s textile industry.

At present, specialists are carrying out thorough cleaning and disinfection of premises, treating incubators with specialized solutions, and inspecting ventilation and microclimate control systems. Industry experts emphasize that this stage is crucial for laying the groundwork for a successful spring silk season in Turkmenistan.

The Dashoguz region continues to be one of Turkmenistan’s leading areas in cocoon production. Each year, hundreds of tons of valuable raw silk materials are produced here for the textile sector of Turkmenistan. Local producers effectively combine long-standing experience with modern agricultural technologies and scientific guidance.

A stable feed supply remains an essential condition for sectoral growth. Mulberry plantations in the region cover several thousand hectares and are expanded annually. Even during winter, orchards are carefully maintained, sanitary standards are upheld, and tree root systems are protected from potential frost damage.

The current preparatory efforts are expected to ensure consistent and high-quality silk production in Turkmenistan during the upcoming season.
