Border Trade Center to Be Inaugurated During Turkmen President’s Visit to Uzbekistan
A major event is scheduled to take place during Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov’s state visit to Uzbekistan: the opening of a Turkmen–Uzbek border trade facility, marking a new milestone in the countries’ economic cooperation.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov announced this at a Cabinet meeting on Friday while reporting on the preparations for the visit.
The new center is expected to become an important mechanism for expanding multifaceted trade and economic relations between the two states. Its launch underscores the steady development of friendly and neighborly dialogue that has continued since diplomatic relations were established in 1993.
The visit coincides with the Seventh Consultative Meeting of Central Asian Heads of State in Tashkent. The summit agenda will include discussions on regional collaboration, strengthening constructive partnership, and sharing views on current regional and international issues.
A series of related events aimed at intensifying cooperation in Central Asia will also take place alongside the summit. High-level bilateral talks are anticipated as well.
