23 Sep. 16:02The Embassy of India in Turkmenistan hosted a special event to celebrate the 11th World Ayurveda Day under the overarching theme "Ayurveda for a Healthier Tomorrow". The gathering brought together media representatives, members of the Indian diaspora residing in Turkmenistan, and local friends of India.
The official program was dedicated to promoting ancient Indian health philosophy and its growing significance in preventive medicine. Guests were invited to explore an interactive exhibition featuring authentic Indian natural remedies, herbal supplements, and traditional wellness products. Organizers shared valuable insights into holistic living, body-mind balance, and daily wellness routines.
A key highlight of the event was a series of live Yoga demonstrations, showcasing practical techniques for maintaining physical fitness and relieving stress. Invited experts provided actionable guidance on integrating healthy practices into modern lifestyles.
During the event, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Turkmenistan, H.E. Mr. Bandaru Wilsonbabu, gave an exclusive interview to the redaction of beyan.tm outlining key areas of healthcare partnership between the two nations:
"I am very glad that members of the Indian community and friends of India joined us today to celebrate the 11th Ayurveda Day. The Government of Turkmenistan has been consistently supporting the promotion of Ayurveda. Experts from India have previously delivered lectures at the Turkmen State Medical University and the Center for Yoga and Traditional Medicine, and we look forward to bringing more specialists in the near future.
There is great scope for further cooperation in traditional medicine, joint research, and the study of medicinal plants, as Turkmenistan is rich in natural resources. Beyond traditional practices, India remains committed to collaborating closely with Turkmenistan in medical tourism, professional training for healthcare workers, as well as pharmaceuticals and diagnostics.
On this occasion, I would also like to warmly congratulate the people of Turkmenistan as you celebrate the 35th Anniversary of your Independence in the coming week," stated H.E. Mr. Bandaru Wilsonbabu.
The celebration concluded in a warm, friendly atmosphere, reaffirming the strong bonds of friendship and expanding cultural cooperation between India and Turkmenistan.
