Winners of the Student Creative Contest Announced in Turkmenistan
05 May. 05:31The final round of the creative competition "Happy Braves of the New Era of the Powerful State" took place at the Magtymguly National Music and Drama Theater on May 4. Held in honor of the Victory Day anniversary, the contest brought together talented male students from higher education institutions across the country. The event was jointly organized by the Ministry of Education and the Central Council of the Magtymguly Youth Organization of Turkmenistan to promote cultural values and professional pride among the younger generation.
The competition consisted of three distinct segments designed to test the participants' artistic and intellectual range. In the first round, students showcased their chosen professions through musical performances and video presentations. The second stage focused on reciting poetry and performing monologues that highlighted the traditional virtues of Turkmen youth, such as bravery, integrity, and honor. The final part allowed contestants to demonstrate their wit and stage presence through traditional humorous sketches and folk storytelling.
Following a rigorous evaluation by the panel of judges, the Grand Prix was awarded to Muhammetmyrat Atamyradow, a second-year student from the Magtymguly Turkmen State University. First place was secured by Akmuhammet Achylow from the Turkmen Agricultural University. Other top honors were distributed among students from the State Energy Institute, the International University of Oil and Gas, and several other leading academic institutions, reflecting a broad participation across various fields of study.
The winners were presented with valuable prizes and certificates during the award ceremony. In addition to the main rankings, several participants were recognized with honorary titles such as "Valiant Youth," "Inspired Youth," and "Master Instrumentalist" for their outstanding individual performances. The event successfully highlighted the creative potential and civic spirit of Turkmenistan’s students, celebrating their role in the nation’s ongoing social and cultural development.

Switzerland Opens Applications for Government Excellence Scholarships for Young Turkmen Researchers
24 Aug. 14:45The Swiss Government has officially opened the application cycle for its Excellence Scholarships for the 2027–2028 academic year. The program target young specialists and researchers from Turkmenistan seeking to conduct post-graduate research or pursue doctoral studies at top Swiss universities and research institutes.
Key applicant requirements:
A Master’s degree or equivalent academic/professional credential;
Age limit: born after December 31, 1991;
A detailed research proposal including a timeline, core methodology, and planned objectives;
An official letter of academic sponsorship from a host professor in Switzerland;
For applicants currently residing in Switzerland, the entry date must not precede August 1, 2026.
The grant includes a monthly allowance, health insurance coverage, partial housing subsidies, and travel expenses. Research fellowships range from 6 to 12 months in duration. Electronic application submissions will remain open through November 27, 2026. Application procedures for Turkmen citizens are overseen by the Embassy of Switzerland in Baku.
