Turkmenistan’s Ambassador to Belgium, Sapar Palvanov, recently met in Brussels with Paul Wortmeyer, Director at Van Oord, a Dutch company recognized globally for its expertise in dredging and marine engineering.
Their conversation focused on the Turkmenbashi International Seaport and the potential for collaborative projects in maritime infrastructure. Both sides exchanged views on advancing partnerships along Turkmenistan’s Caspian Sea coast.
Mr. Wortmeyer expressed his intention to attend Turkmenistan’s annual International Oil and Gas Conference, traditionally held in October, to explore new cooperation avenues and assess investment potential.
The upcoming 30th edition of the "Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan – OGT 2025" conference is expected to draw more than 1,400 participants from 70 countries, reaffirming the country’s growing role as a regional hub for energy and investment dialogue.

The President noted that key landmarks during this 35th anniversary year of independence include the opening of new International Centers for Oncology, Pediatrics, and Dentistry, alongside modern expansions at the "Archman" health resort.
Running through October 12, the three-day event serves as a global platform uniting state ministries, international manufacturers, medical specialists, and researchers. The agenda encompasses interactive exhibition stands, technical sessions, specialized workshops, and strategic B2B and B2G business negotiations.
