Located in the Genting Highlands resort complex of Malaysia, the "First World Hotel" firmly maintains its title as the largest hotel in the world. Following an extensive expansion and structural development project, the complex increased its total capacity to a staggering 7,351 rooms. This achievement successfully secured its leading position in the Guinness World Records, overtaking all global hospitality competitors.

The resort is situated near the capital city of Kuala Lumpur, positioned at an altitude of more than 1,800 meters above sea level. It was originally envisioned in the late 1960s by entrepreneur Lim Goh Tong as a mass leisure destination for local urban residents. Following the opening of its first casino destination in 1971, infrastructure grew rapidly, leading to the hotel's construction launch in 1997, with the first block opening to international guests in 2001.

The hotel's expansion moved through multiple historical phases: by 2006, the opening of a second tower brought the room count to 6,118. Although the record was briefly held by "The Venetian" in Las Vegas in 2008, First World Hotel reclaimed its throne in 2015 by adding a new tower consisting of 1,233 rooms. Today, the complex targets high-volume budget tourism, with room rates starting as affordably as $30 USD per night, maintaining an average occupancy rate of 90% across its vast entertainment and retail zones.
