In the Chhattisgarh state of India, a 50-year-old grocery store owner named Ramsahay Jaiswal has been detained by law enforcement for intentionally poisoning his neighbors. According to reports by The Times of India, the suspect confessed to administering lethal doses of poison to eight fellow villagers from Kharwe over the span of four months. Jaiswal reportedly obtained rodenticide from a neighbor under the pretext of pest control, tested its potency on a stray dog, and then proceeded to systematically invite his targets to his house, secretly spiking their drinks.

Jaiswal detailed that his actions were fueled by deep-seated personal grudges, citing reasons such as neighbors mocking him, failing to repay financial debts, and harboring conflicting political ideologies; he even suspected one acquaintance of practicing witchcraft. The criminal pattern was exposed after one of the victims survived the poisoning and was hospitalized. Realizing that all the deceased individuals had visited Jaiswal's home shortly before their sudden deaths, suspicious villagers alerted the police. A comprehensive criminal investigation remains underway.
