Elon Musk has officially launched the "Grok Imagine x Homer’s Odyssey Contest," inviting creators to produce short video adaptations based on Homer's epic poem. The submission receiving the highest evaluation will be awarded a grand prize of $100,000.

Entries must be generated using the Grok Imagine tool and posted directly on the X social platform. The application window opened on August 17 and will run through August 31, 2026. Participation is open to legal adult residents across the 50 U.S. states and the District of Columbia, excluding employees and immediate family members of X, SpaceX, SpaceXAI, and Cursor.

The competition features tiered monetary prizes, with top placements receiving $100,000, $50,000, and $25,000, respectively. While there is no limit on the number of submissions per participant, each entry must represent an original creation generated via Grok Imagine.

In July, Musk voiced plans to produce an AI-generated adaptation of the ancient epic that adheres strictly to historical context, following his public critique of casting decisions in Christopher Nolan's upcoming film project. The current contest encourages users to leverage artificial intelligence to explore their own interpretations of the classic tale.
