Turkmenistan’s oil and gas sector has recorded strong commercial and operational growth during the first five months of the fiscal year 2026. During a routine digital Cabinet of Ministers session, Deputy Prime Minister G. Agajanov delivered a comprehensive briefing on the industrial output of the nation's energy complex. The structural data confirmed that the Turkmennebit State Concern efficiently executed its targeted oil extraction plan, achieving a performance rating of 107.6%.

The state refining infrastructures also demonstrated increased processing efficiency throughout the reported calendar timeframe. National refineries fulfilled their raw oil processing quotas by 104.6%. The production breakdown for essential petroleum derivatives and petrochemical assets outlines substantial gains: the automobile gasoline manufacturing plan was achieved at 110%, diesel fuel output at 110,4%, specialized lubricants at 124.1%, and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) operations reached 111.4%. Furthermore, natural and associated gas extraction targets were executed at 106.6%.

The continuous expansion of the nation's primary energy matrix provides long-term fiscal stability, anchoring downstream supply chains and bolstering domestic energy security. Technical modernization across the major processing centers enables the production of higher-grade fuels matching international eco-standards, thereby consolidating the state's commercial presence within European and Asian commodity markets.

Reviewing the industrial brief, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the critical importance of scaling up crude oil and natural gas production volumes through the integration of modern digital technologies. The Head of State reiterated that production lines must operate at full design capacity to ensure uninterrupted domestic and export distribution. The Vice-Premier was specifically instructed to upgrade corporate geological exploration and drilling methodologies to accelerate the discovery of new hydrocarbon reservoirs.

Facing a record drop in fertility rates, Singapore is significantly expanding its family support framework. According to Bloomberg, Prime Minister Lawrence Wong announced increases in direct financial assistance alongside enhanced housing benefits for young families.

Under the updated policy, every Singaporean child up to the age of 17 will be eligible to receive up to 70,000 Singapore dollars (approximately $55,000 USD) in total support, which includes cash payouts, educational grants, and related benefits. The government is also expanding paid parental leave and capping monthly out-of-pocket costs for government-subsidized childcare at 150 Singapore dollars.

These interventions aim to reverse a severe demographic decline, marked by last year's fertility rate drop to 0.87 children per woman, while over 20% of the country's population is currently aged 65 or older.
