In January, Turkmenistan achieved a solid increase in gross domestic product, reaching a growth rate of 6.3 percent. This information was presented during a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan held via digital communication, as part of the report delivered by Deputy Chairman H. Geldimyradov.
According to reports from Turkmenistan’s national media, the country demonstrated positive economic dynamics across major sectors. Industrial output in Turkmenistan rose by 2 percent, construction activity expanded by 6 percent, while the transport and communications sector recorded a notable increase of 9.3 percent. Trade turnover grew by 8.2 percent, agriculture advanced by 2 percent, and the services sector showed growth of 8.5 percent.
Compared to January of the previous year, total production in Turkmenistan increased by 10 percent, reflecting stable and encouraging performance throughout the national economy. Retail trade turnover also posted a year-on-year rise of 10.1 percent.
Implementation of Turkmenistan’s state budget in January demonstrated strong results, with revenue targets fulfilled at 102.2 percent and expenditure plans executed at 97.1 percent. Throughout the reporting period, wages, pensions, state benefits, and student stipends in Turkmenistan were financed in a timely manner. Capital investment funded from all sources increased by 21.3 percent compared to the same period last year.
After reviewing the report, the President of Turkmenistan emphasized the importance of continuing reforms in the economic, financial, and banking systems. The Deputy Chairman was instructed to ensure the effective implementation of development objectives set for Turkmenistan in 2026, maintain stable GDP growth, and further advance sectoral development across the country.
