Turkmenistan Holds Ceremonies Marking the Discharge of Conscription Soldiers
Military units across Turkmenistan are hosting ceremonies dedicated to soldiers completing their two-year mandatory service. These events are conducted in line with President Serdar Berdimuhamedov’s decree on the discharge of conscripts from the Armed Forces, other military branches, and defense institutions, as well as the call-up of new recruits for the period of October–December 2025.
During the events, entire military formations — officers, sergeants and soldiers — gather on the parade grounds. Commanders congratulate the departing servicemen, emphasizing that they honorably fulfilled their duty by safeguarding the country’s independence, territorial integrity, and constitutional order.
Special recognition is given to those who distinguished themselves in combat training, drill performance, and civic-humanitarian preparation. In the presence of fellow soldiers, commanders, and family members, high-performing conscripts receive certificates of honor and commemorative gifts. Their discipline, sense of duty, and contribution to national defense are highlighted.
Soldier Wepa Hudaýberdiýew shared:
“These two years became a true school of life. We gained valuable experience and grew stronger. I am proud to have served my Homeland.”
His comrade Charymyrat Muhammedov added:
“Military service taught us patience, support for one another, and responsibility — qualities that will be useful in everyday life.”
Most discharged soldiers will soon return home to their families. Ceremonies marking their demobilization will continue throughout the current conscription season.
