The historical masterpiece "Tamerlane," documenting the life of the 14th-century conqueror Emir Timur, has officially launched its global theatrical run. Since April 2, 2026, the film has been screened in over 30 countries, marking a major milestone for this international co-production involving America’s Mystery Box, Uzbekistan’s 7SABER, and Kazakhstan’s BWG Production. The release was strategically timed to coincide with the 690th anniversary of Tamerlane’s birth, celebrated with grand military parades and festivities in Tashkent.
The film's commercial reach is extensive, with distribution rights sold to more than 120 countries and regions spanning Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America. Leading distributors like Signature Entertainment and Youplanet are spearheading the rollout in major markets. Production estimates suggest a potential audience of over 250 million viewers. Following the theatrical release, the film will be available digitally in the U.S. via Well Go USA Entertainment on April 14, with a physical release scheduled for June.
Director Jacob Schwarz developed the concept for this project over two decades. The screenplay by Matthew Green is deeply rooted in 14th-century historical documents, refined through extensive consultations with Uzbek historians. Filming took place in the historic city of Khiva, the ancient settlement of Toprak-Kala, and the vast landscapes of Kazakhstan. With a budget of approximately $30 million and battle sequences featuring up to 800 extras, the production reflects the monumental scale of Tamerlane’s historical impact.
British actor Christian Mortensen stars in the titular role, also serving as a producer and performing all his own stunts. The creators aim for "Tamerlane" to be ranked alongside legendary historical epics such as "Gladiator," "Braveheart," and "The Last Samurai." Beyond its cinematic spectacle, the film is designed to offer a historically accurate yet unique narrative about one of the most complex and influential military commanders in world history.

Methane is a major contributor to global warming, with a heat-trapping capacity in the atmosphere significantly higher than that of carbon dioxide. The newly developed bio-agent features high efficiency in industrially congested areas, cost-effectiveness through the use of local raw materials, and complete safety for human health and the environment.
This scientific breakthrough aligns with Turkmenistan's sustainable development strategy, supporting its commitments under the Global Methane Pledge to enhance environmental oversight in the energy sector.
