Turkmenistan has drafted a 2026–2030 roadmap aimed at regulating virtual assets and introducing mining technologies. The document was presented by Deputy Prime Minister Khojamyrat Geldimyradov during a government meeting, according to TDH.
The roadmap outlines the establishment of a legal, technological, and organizational framework necessary for the development of a national digital asset market.
It specifies concrete measures, deadlines, and responsible authorities. Key priorities include studying international experience, drafting legislation, expanding energy and communication infrastructure, attracting investment, and launching pilot projects. Special emphasis is placed on cybersecurity, energy efficiency, and training qualified personnel.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that Turkmenistan is steadily advancing its digital economy and integrating innovative technologies. He instructed the deputy prime minister to oversee the implementation of the roadmap.
The government is also considering the creation of a dedicated state commission to coordinate activities related to virtual asset deployment.

From January to October 2025, mutual trade between Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan amounted to 404.7 million US dollars, according to data published by the Kazakh analytical platform LSM.
During the ten-month period, Turkmenistan significantly increased its exports to the neighboring country. Export volumes rose 2.3 times to 242.5 thousand tons, while their total value reached 156.3 million dollars. The most dramatic growth was recorded in the soft drinks sector, where shipments expanded more than eightfold. Exports of sulfuric acid increased by 4.1 times, and deliveries of household detergents grew by 31%.
Meanwhile, Turkmenistan’s imports of goods and services from Kazakhstan totaled 248.3 million dollars during the same period, marking a slight decrease of 0.9% year-on-year. At the same time, the physical volume of Kazakh exports to the Turkmen market increased by 29%, reaching 266 thousand tons.
