The Turkmenistan delegation, led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Myakhri Beshimova, is taking part in the UNESCO World Conference on Cultural Policies and Sustainable Development (MONDIACULT-2025), which is being held in Barcelona from September 29 to October 1.
The conference, attended by representatives from 160 countries, features ministerial dialogues and several parallel events, as reported by Turkmenistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Participants are discussing key areas of international cooperation in the cultural sphere, including ensuring cultural rights, digital transformation, the interaction between culture and education, the development of creative industries, the link between culture and climate change, the preservation of cultural heritage in crisis situations, and the prospects for using artificial intelligence.
Head of the Turkmen delegation, M. Beshimova, at the thematic session on the topics "Culture and Peace" and "Culture and Education," emphasized the importance of the consistent policy of the President of Turkmenistan aimed at preserving and promoting the rich historical and cultural heritage, strengthening cultural dialogue, and actively advancing cultural diplomacy.
Turkmenistan's firm commitment to the principles and ideals of UNESCO was highlighted, which is reflected in its active participation in implementing key programs and initiatives that contribute to strengthening partnerships and developing international humanitarian cooperation.
The World Conference MONDIACULT-2025 is held every four years and serves as the leading global platform for dialogue and cooperation in cultural policy.

During his official visit to the Russian Federation, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov paid a visit to the State Hermitage Museum, one of the world’s most renowned cultural institutions. The visit was confirmed by official representatives of the host country.
The President of Turkmenistan was accompanied by Russian President Vladimir Putin, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, and President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev. Together, they explored the museum’s vast collections and historical exhibits.
Following the tour, an informal meeting of CIS heads of state was held in the St. George Hall of the Hermitage. Turkmenistan’s participation highlighted the country’s commitment to cultural diplomacy and regional cooperation.
