The first matches of the semifinals of the 2025 Turkmenistan Football Cup will take place on Thursday and Friday. Four teams – Arkadag, Ahal, Ashgabat, and Shagadam – will compete for a place in the final.
Current champions Arkadag will play an away match against Ashgabat on Thursday. In the quarterfinals, Arkadag convincingly defeated Nebitçi with an aggregate score of 9-1 (6-0 and 3-1), while Ashgabat won both games against Altyn Asyr – 2-1 and 3-2. The match will be held at Nisa Stadium in the capital, starting at 14:00.
In the second semifinal on November 21, Ahal will face Shagadam. Both teams advanced confidently through the quarterfinals: Ahal beat Köpetdag – 2-2 and 1-0, while Shagadam overcame Merv – 0-0 and 4-1. The match will take place at Shagadam Stadium in Turkmenbashi, beginning at 15:30.
Dates for the second leg of the semifinals will be announced later. The winners of the two-legged ties will determine the finalists of the 2025 Turkmenistan Cup.
The main referee for the Ashgabat vs. Arkadag match is D. Muradov, while B. Atdyev’s team will officiate the Shagadam vs. Ahal game.

On 15 December 2025, a ceremonial reception marking the National Day of the State of Qatar was held in Ashgabat. The event was hosted by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Qatar to Turkmenistan, Nasser Ahmed Mohammed Al-Taher.

The Guest of Honour from the Government of Turkmenistan was Minister of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations Nazar Agahanov.
In his address, the Ambassador highlighted the historical role of Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed Al Thani, the founder of modern Qatar, and emphasized Qatar’s active role in international mediation and peacebuilding efforts.
Special attention was given to the rapid development of bilateral relations between Qatar and Turkmenistan in 2025, supported by high-level mutual visits and close ties between the leaders of the two countries.
Guests were introduced to Qatari culture through an exhibition of traditional clothing, books about Qatar, national artifacts, and falcons — a symbol of the country’s heritage. The atmosphere was enriched by traditional music, while a calligrapher artistically wrote guests’ names upon request.
