The Chairperson of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, Dunyagozel Gulmanova, met with the Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Maulen Ashimbayev. The high-level meeting took place on the sidelines of the 60th plenary session of the Interparliamentary Assembly of member nations of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), serving as a platform to review strategic legislative partnerships.

During the dialogue, the officials emphasized that due to the mutual commitments of both Heads of State, relations between the two countries have reached a deep and productive level. They noted the substantial historic experience governing the Turkmen-Kazakh strategic alliance, which has led to significant advancements in political, economic, cultural, and humanitarian fields. Furthermore, both parties highlighted their consistent solidarity within various international organizations and global platforms.

The leaders focused heavily on parliamentary diplomacy, describing it as an essential component for broadening the scope of bilateral state cooperation. Special credit was given to the functioning interparliamentary friendship groups, as well as the specialized forums holding direct exchanges for youth and women lawmakers. Such networks were recognized as crucial for transferring legislative expertise and managing joint institutional frameworks.

Concluding the meeting, the Head of the National Parliament reaffirmed Turkmenistan's readiness to further expand these interparliamentary ties across all vital sectors. In this context, she extended an official invitation to the Kazakh Senate Chairman to attend upcoming international events in the "Avaza" National Tourist Zone. These summits will be hosted as part of Turkmenistan's chairmanship of the CIS and the upcoming Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia and Azerbaijan.
