The Turkish Embassy in Turkmenistan hosted a formal presentation to mark the commencement of the annual global Turkish Cuisine Week. Aimed at introducing the culinary traditions of Anatolia to the international community, the cultural event brought together foreign diplomats, senior ministerial representatives, and prominent cultural figures. The Minister of Culture of Turkmenistan, Atageldi Shamyradov, attended the function as the principal guest of honor representing the host nation.

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkiye, Ahmet Demirok, noted in his welcome address that this international cultural initiative operates under the high patronage of the First Lady of Turkiye, Emine Erdogan. The gastronomic campaign is structured around a specialized publication that highlights centuries-old culinary formulas. The diplomat emphasized that the national cuisine represents a historical crossroad, absorbing elements from the Caucasus, the Balkans, the Middle East, and the Mediterranean.

During his speech, the Ambassador highlighted the social and philosophical importance of hospitality in Turkish culture, referencing the ancient cultural concept of the "guest of God." This tradition reflects an enduring commitment to social harmony, mutual respect, and generosity that transcends borders. The event sought to mirror these values through its communal dining setting.

Guests at the reception were treated to a curated menu featuring historical recipes from the Seljuk and Ottoman eras, modified to meet contemporary healthy dining standards. The selection included traditional regional soups, olive oil-infused appetizers, artisanal pastries, and slow-roasted meat delicacies paired with classic grain sides, showcasing the geographic diversity of the country's food heritage.
