Ashgabat hosted a vibrant competition titled “Flowers – the Beauty of Peaceful Life”, celebrating the capital’s best gardeners. The event was dedicated to the upcoming 34th anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence and involved four teams representing municipal landscaping services.
The contest had three rounds:
Presentation of floral artwork.
Creation of original bouquets and flower baskets.
Artistic performances — poetry and musical pieces themed around flowers and trees.
The winner was Maisa Ataeva, secretary of the gardening department of the Berkararlyk district.
“It’s a great honor to take part in this contest. Flowers, to me, are symbols of peace and harmony. They bring joy to weddings and celebrations — and now also reflect our peaceful life. We’re proud to beautify Ashgabat, especially in the International Year of Peace and Trust,” she said.
Winners received Turkmen carpets as the main prize, presented on behalf of the president. Participants were evaluated on a five-point scale.
