“Three Years for Nature”: Report from the Anniversary of the ‘Yash Tebigatchy’ Public Organisation
On October 3rd, in Ashgabat, a warm and festive ceremony marked the 3rd anniversary of the public organisation ‘Yash Tebigatchy’ (“Young Naturalist”). The hall was decorated with eco-symbols, green banners, and filled with the cheerful energy of young volunteers and environmental enthusiasts.
Founded in 2022, the organisation has grown rapidly: today it brings together over 70,000 members — youth, professionals, and citizens committed to environmental protection.
Speaking at the ceremony, Chairwoman Leyli Shyhmadova shared her reflections:
“Our main mission is to nurture love and responsibility towards nature among the younger generation. Over these three years, we have organised dozens of campaigns, seminars, and creative contests, as well as planted thousands of trees. All this is our contribution to a sustainable future for our Motherland.”
Indeed, the organisation has already conducted 35 environmental campaigns, 73 training seminars, 17 contests, and organised educational trips to nature reserves. Nearly 30,000 trees have been planted across the country.
During the event, winners of the creative contest “Yash Tebigatchy: Green World, Prosperous Future” — organised together with the national newspaper Watan — were awarded.
The celebration also highlighted international cooperation: ‘Yash Tebigatchy’ actively partners with UNDP, UNICEF, UNFPA, UNESCO, and CAREC, building strong ties for joint environmental projects.
The 3rd anniversary was not just a milestone — it was a step toward broader horizons and new initiatives.
