The Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan invites the nation’s youth to attend Open Day events scheduled for April 6, April 27, and May 8, 2026. These sessions are specifically organized for prospective students interested in applying for the 2026–2027 academic year. All scheduled programs will commence at 09:00, providing an organized environment for applicants to explore the educational opportunities and campus facilities of the country’s leading diplomatic school.

During the visit, guests will have the opportunity to watch a documentary film highlighting the country’s foreign policy, ongoing educational reforms, and specialized training tracks. The presentation will offer a comprehensive look at the academic and social life within the institute, helping future candidates understand the professional requirements of a career in international relations. This introductory phase is designed to inspire and inform the next generation of Turkmen diplomats about their future academic journey.

The open house program includes tours of several key academic departments, such as the Museum of the History of Turkmen Diplomacy and the campus broadcasting studio. Prospective students will also gain access to the Training Center for Priority Areas of Turkmen Diplomacy, the Scientific and Methodological Center for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and the specialized Diplomatic Protocol Training Center. Switzerland Opens Applications for Government Excellence Scholarships for Young Turkmen Researchers

The Swiss Government has officially opened the application cycle for its Excellence Scholarships for the 2027–2028 academic year. The program target young specialists and researchers from Turkmenistan seeking to conduct post-graduate research or pursue doctoral studies at top Swiss universities and research institutes.

Key applicant requirements:

A Master’s degree or equivalent academic/professional credential;

Age limit: born after December 31, 1991;

A detailed research proposal including a timeline, core methodology, and planned objectives;

An official letter of academic sponsorship from a host professor in Switzerland;

For applicants currently residing in Switzerland, the entry date must not precede August 1, 2026.

The grant includes a monthly allowance, health insurance coverage, partial housing subsidies, and travel expenses. Research fellowships range from 6 to 12 months in duration. Electronic application submissions will remain open through November 27, 2026. Application procedures for Turkmen citizens are overseen by the Embassy of Switzerland in Baku.
