The State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan recently hosted a nationwide online competition entitled "Russian for Professional Purposes" for university students. Held under the inspiring theme "World Languages – Pathways to Friendship," the contest aimed to identify and encourage students who demonstrate exceptional proficiency in the Russian language within their specific fields of study. A total of 82 participants, representing 17 diverse higher education institutions across the country, joined the digital event to test their linguistic and professional competencies.

Following a rigorous evaluation process, 28 students were recognized for their outstanding performances. Seven students secured the prestigious first-place position, representing various academic disciplines from the International Academy of Horse Breeding to the State Finance Institute. These winners showcased a remarkable ability to apply Russian terminology in technical, agricultural, economic, and humanitarian contexts, proving the success of integrated language learning programs in Turkmenistan's academic system.

The competition also awarded second and third prizes to a significant number of participants: 10 students earned second-place honors, while 11 students achieved third place. According to the organizing committee, the online format provided a fair and transparent platform for students from all regions to demonstrate their skills. The contest tasks were specifically designed to assess not only general grammar and vocabulary but also the practical use of professional jargon and advanced analytical communication.

The successful conclusion of this competition highlights the ongoing national effort to modernize the educational framework and promote multilingualism among the youth. By mastering Russian as a professional tool, future specialists in Turkmenistan gain better access to regional scientific resources and international collaboration opportunities. Organizers noted that such initiatives play a vital role in preparing a new generation of experts capable of representing the nation in a globalized professional environment.
