Teachers Take Part in a Workshop on Using Artificial Intelligence in Education
03 Dec. 07:14University lecturers from Turkmenistan joined an online workshop organized by the UNESCO International Centre for Higher Education Innovation (UNESCO-ICHEI) with the support of UNESCO. The event, titled “Empowering Educators: Unleashing the Hidden Potential of Generative AI in Teaching and Learning,” was reported by the online newspaper “Altyn Asyr.”
The session was led by Kaushal Kumar Bhagat, Associate Professor at the Centre for Advanced Technologies and Development of the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur and Deputy Head of the Center for Pedagogical Training and Cognitive Skills.
His presentation provided participants with a broader and deeper understanding of how artificial intelligence can be applied in teaching and learning, offering practical examples and innovative methods.
Dr. Bhagat discussed effective strategies for integrating generative AI into the educational process, new approaches to lesson planning using AI tools, modern systems for assessing knowledge, and methods for creating personalized and creative learning materials.
Throughout the workshop, university faculty members actively engaged in discussions, exchanged views, and took part in thematic dialogues.

24 Aug. 14:45The Swiss Government has officially opened the application cycle for its Excellence Scholarships for the 2027–2028 academic year. The program target young specialists and researchers from Turkmenistan seeking to conduct post-graduate research or pursue doctoral studies at top Swiss universities and research institutes.
Key applicant requirements:
A Master’s degree or equivalent academic/professional credential;
Age limit: born after December 31, 1991;
A detailed research proposal including a timeline, core methodology, and planned objectives;
An official letter of academic sponsorship from a host professor in Switzerland;
For applicants currently residing in Switzerland, the entry date must not precede August 1, 2026.
The grant includes a monthly allowance, health insurance coverage, partial housing subsidies, and travel expenses. Research fellowships range from 6 to 12 months in duration. Electronic application submissions will remain open through November 27, 2026. Application procedures for Turkmen citizens are overseen by the Embassy of Switzerland in Baku.
