A new international bus route has officially connected Tashkent and Dushanbe, marking a milestone in regional cooperation. The inaugural journey from Uzbekistan was met with a traditional musical welcome at the Dushanbe terminal, signaling a warm start to this cross-border service. Designed for maximum passenger comfort, the long-distance buses feature reclining and sleeping berths to accommodate the 14-hour trek between the two capitals.

Travelers can secure a seat for approximately 250 somoni, provided they hold a valid international passport. According to Uzbek transport officials, the initiative reflects a presidential commitment to enhancing bilateral ties, with plans already in place to expand the fleet if demand grows. Currently operating on a bi-weekly schedule, this route is seen by locals as a long-awaited bridge that will solidify the brotherhood between the two neighboring nations.
