The national weightlifting team of Turkmenistan delivered an impressive performance at major international competitions held in Doha, the capital of Qatar, securing a total of 21 medals. Turkmen athletes claimed 7 gold, 7 silver, and 7 bronze medals, highlighting the growing strength of Turkmenistan in international weightlifting.

The event brought together several prestigious tournaments, including the 10th Qatar International Weightlifting Cup 2025, the Arab Championships for youth, juniors, and seniors, as well as the West Asian Championship. Nearly 240 athletes from 28 countries took part, making the competition highly competitive.

One of the young representatives of Turkmenistan, Ogulshat Amanova, competed in the 53 kg weight category and earned three bronze medals with lifts of 77 kg in the snatch, 93 kg in the clean and jerk, and a total of 170 kg.

In the 71 kg division, Bunyad Rashidov delivered a strong performance, winning two gold medals and one silver. He topped the snatch with 145 kg and the total with 314 kg, while his 169 kg result in the clean and jerk secured silver.

Zybagul Soymusova added a bronze medal for Turkmenistan in the 58 kg category. Competing in the 79 kg class, Gaygysyz Toraev won silver in the clean and jerk and bronze in the total. Medine Amanova earned three silver medals in the 63 kg division.

In the 94 kg category, Rustem Annaberdyev claimed two silver medals, while Resul Rejepov secured bronze in the snatch. One of the standout performances came from Anamjan Rustamova in the 86 kg category, where she dominated all three disciplines to win three gold medals. In the 110 kg division, Davranbek Hasanbayev added two gold and one bronze medals to Turkmenistan’s tally.

These results underline the steady development of the Turkmenistan weightlifting school and confirm the country’s strong presence on the international sporting stage.
