An innovative 5,000-square-meter training hub dedicated to the development of artificial intelligence and robotics will open in Shanghai’s high-tech Zhangjiang district in July 2026. This facility is uniquely designed to provide cross-platform education and synchronized training for humanoid robots from various global manufacturers. The initiative seeks to bridge the gap between abstract artificial intelligence models and physical automated labor in simulated real-world environments.

The primary objective of the project is to assemble a massive practical dataset required to accelerate the deployment of androids in industrial, medical, and domestic service sectors. For the inaugural training cycle, more than 100 humanoid robots from ten of China's leading technology firms have been enrolled. The pedagogical methodology relies entirely on the machines processing verbal commands from human trainers and executing those tasks autonomously.

The curriculum is structured around the mastery of 45 basic motor skills, including lifting, gripping, positioning, and transporting various assets. Furthermore, the androids will be trained in 10 complex procedural workflows, such as shelf restocking, facility cleaning, and garment folding. To guarantee precision and eliminate technical errors, data scientists will monitor and log the repetition of a single motion up to 600 times a day.

According to Xu Bin, the general manager of the center, the database generated by the facility will be accessible to all participating developers free of charge to speed up vocational adaptation. The hub's operations are projected to generate approximately 50,000 unique data points daily, culminating in an annual archive of 10 million training iterations. This open-source data exchange model is expected to minimize corporate R&D barriers and provide a powerful catalyst for the global robotics market.
