The flag-raising ceremony and official opening of the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDC3) took place in Avaza.

UN High Representative for the Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries and Small Island Developing States Rabab Fatima expressed gratitude to the Turkmen government for hosting the event in her posts on the X social network page. According to her, she feels "deep appreciation to the Government of Turkmenistan for its outstanding leadership, unwavering commitment and generous hospitality."

The UN High Representative and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov took part in the handover ceremony of the conference venue. During the event, the UN flag was raised next to the national flag of Turkmenistan, which, as Rabab Fatima noted in her message, became "a symbol of unity, solidarity and shared commitment" of the 32 participating countries.

The UN representative also stressed in her publications the importance of the joint efforts of all participants in the conference, thanking "landlocked developing countries, UN colleagues and all partners for their tireless efforts." She concluded her message by writing: "LLDC3 is here. Let this momentum carry us forward!"
