The President of Mongolia, Ukhnaagiin Khürelsükh, has arrived in Kazakhstan for an official state visit aimed at strengthening bilateral ties and regional cooperation. During high-level talks held in a restricted format, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev welcomed his Mongolian counterpart, emphasizing that the two fraternal nations are bound by a shared history and deep cultural roots. The meeting highlighted the mutual respect and long-standing neighborly relations that serve as the foundation for modern diplomacy between Astana and Ulaanbaatar.

President Tokayev pointed out that Kazakhs and Mongols have coexisted as close neighbors for centuries, sharing similar lifestyles and traditions. He noted that these timeless values remain at the heart of their friendship today. Currently, the relationship between the two countries is developing within the framework of a strategic partnership, with strengthening ties observed at the interstate, interparliamentary, and intergovernmental levels, fostering a more integrated economic environment.

In response, President Ukhnaagiin Khürelsükh highlighted that the reciprocal visits between the leaders in recent years have provided fresh impetus to bilateral relations. He remarked that the 2024 visit to Ulaanbaatar by the Kazakh leader was a historic event written in "golden letters" in the annals of their diplomacy. The Mongolian President praised the visionary leadership of President Tokayev, noting that under his guidance, Kazakhstan has achieved significant progress in economic and socio-political spheres.

The current state visit is expected to culminate in the signing of a substantial package of new agreements and documents. Following the previous exchange where dozens of documents were signed, this visit aims to formalize cooperation in key sectors such as trade, energy, and infrastructure.
