Elon Musk, the billionaire founder of Tesla and SpaceX, has seen his net worth slide back below the trillion-dollar threshold following recent intense fluctuations across global stock markets. According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, the entrepreneur's current net worth has adjusted to 957 billion dollars. This downturn comes just two weeks after Musk made history on June 12 by becoming the world's first official trillionaire, a record driven by the surging valuation of his aerospace enterprise.
The primary catalyst behind the 118 billion dollar drop in his fortune lies in the synchronized depreciation of his flagship corporations' market valuations. The most pronounced decline occurred within SpaceX, where equity values fell for three consecutive days following the announcement of a new investment bond issuance designated to finance artificial intelligence (AI) projects. Market data indicates that since June 16, Tesla shares on the Nasdaq exchange slipped by 4.14 percent, while SpaceX's valuation experienced a sharper correction, plunging by 17.13 percent.
