Piano Album by Mamed Guseynov Debuts at “Sounds of the Dutar” Festival in Moscow

In Moscow, at the intimate music lounge of the A.N. Scriabin Memorial Museum, the premiere of Mamed Guseynov’s piano collection titled "Six Pieces for Children" took place as part of the lead-up program to the 9th International Music Competition “Sounds of the Dutar”.

The cycle features six imaginative compositions: Childhood EchoesThe Wandering Minstrel (Bakshi)A TaleMagical DreamsThe Scarab Dance, and the nocturne Longing for Home. The printed album is complemented by vivid illustrations created by renowned Turkmen artist Kossekmurad Nurmuradov, a Merited Figure of Art in Turkmenistan.

The introductory essay was written by Turkmen musicologist Yuliya Jumayeva. The premiere performance was given by the talented pianist Maria Buyanova, Grand Prix winner of a previous “Sounds of the Dutar” edition. Her expressive playing and technical finesse brought the compositions to life, resonating deeply with the audience.

The main competition stage of the 9th “Sounds of the Dutar” festival begins in late October, and applications for participation are still open. The festival aims to become a launchpad for emerging talents and support the development of future masters of classical music.
