New Head Appointed for “Altyn Asyr: Türkmenistan” TV and Radio Channel

Personnel changes within the state media system were announced during the extended Government meeting held on February 13.

O. Hojanazarov stepped down from his position as head of the “Altyn asyr: Türkmenistan” TV and radio channel due to retirement. The channel operates under the State Committee of Turkmenistan for Television, Radio Broadcasting and Cinematography.

According to the “Watan” news broadcast, P. Kakabayev has been appointed as the new head of Altyn asyr: Türkmenistan. Prior to this appointment, he led the Arkadag TV channel and has been relieved of that role.

K. Nepesov has now been assigned as the head of the “Arkadag” TV channel. The relevant decrees were signed during the meeting by President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedow.

















Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan and PETRONAS Sign New Memorandum

The Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan and PETRONAS Carigali (Turkmenistan) Sdn. Bhd. signed a Memorandum of Understanding to advance cooperation in education and vocational training. The signing meeting involved Minister of Education J. Gurbangeldiyev, Malaysian Ambassador Mohd Suhaimi bin Ahmad Tajuddin, and PETRONAS Carigali (Turkmenistan) CEO Ismadi bin Ismail.

The agreement coincides with the 30th anniversary of PETRONAS's operations in Turkmenistan's oil and gas sector. Discussions focused on qualifying skilled workforce candidates for the energy industry, extending scholarship opportunities for Turkmen students at Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, and advancing professional development programs.

To date, Turkmenistan and Malaysia have established nearly 20 educational agreements. During the recent visit of the Prime Minister of Malaysia to Turkmenistan, three additional agreements were finalized between local universities and Universiti Tenaga Nasional to support academic mobility and exchange initiatives.
