In Turkmenistan, winners of horse races were awarded in honor of Independence Day
We previously reported that in honor of the 34th anniversary of Turkmenistan's sacred independence, celebrations were held at the modernized Ashgabat Equestrian Complex, attended by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
A total of seven races were held over various distances.
According to the State News Agency of Turkmenistan, the bay horse Babadash, owned by the Ahal-Teke Equestrian Complex of the President of Turkmenistan, finished first in the opening 1600-meter race, with third-category rider M. Agamyradov completing the distance in 1 minute 51,3 seconds.
In the second 1600-meter race, the black horse Gelezhek, owned by the Ashgabat City Hall, won the race in 1 minute 51,7 seconds. Master jockey O. Yalkabov.
In the third 1,600-meter race, the best result (1 minute 50 seconds) was achieved by the bay horse Hazyna, owned by the Ministry of Defense of Turkmenistan and ridden by D. Atdayev.
The remaining races, held to commemorate the 34th anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence, featured horses aged four years and older.
The leader of the fourth 1600-meter race was the bay horse Dovamat, owned by the Ahal-Teke Equestrian Complex of the President of Turkmenistan, who, with jockey B. Babayev, clocked 1 minute 48.2 seconds.
In the fifth race of the festive races over the same distance, the black stallion Garayol, belonging to the Ashgabat city administration, with master jockey R. Seidov, came first to the finish line in 1 minute 48.7 seconds.
In the sixth 2200-meter race, the winner was the bay horse Gudratlydag, owned by the Tokaý Hojalygy State Enterprise of the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations of Turkmenistan and ridden by D. Berdimammedov. The winner finished in 2 minutes and 33 seconds.
The final, seventh race over the same distance was for the grand prize established by the President of Turkmenistan.
The bay horse Bezirgen, owned by the Ahal-Teke Equestrian Complex of the President of Turkmenistan, finished first with a time of 2 minutes 34,5 seconds. Master jockey B. Agamyradov.
The awards ceremony then took place.
The winners of the six competitions received cash prizes of 100 thousand manat, while the winner of the final competition received 300 thousand manat.

On the workday preceding a public holiday, working hours are reduced by one hour. The same applies to night shifts, and in continuous production, the schedule is equivalent to a normal day. The average monthly working time is 166.9 hours for a 40-hour workweek and 150.5 hours for a 36-hour workweek. This ensures a balanced labor schedule throughout Turkmenistan in 2026.
