On August 11, a festive event marking the 85th birthday of Gozel Shaguliyeva, Hero of Turkmenistan and esteemed poetess, was held at the Magtymguly National Music and Drama Theater.
During the ceremony, Leila Ovezgeldiyeva, Turkmenistan’s official representative to the Secretariat of the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY), announced the publication of a poetry anthology titled "Women and the Word in the Turkic World" in honor of the poet’s jubilee.
The collection has been published in nine languages: Turkmen, Azerbaijani, Kazakh, Kyrgyz, Uzbek, Turkish, English, French, and Russian. The first copy of the book was presented to Gozel Shaguliyeva during the event.
Leila Ovezgeldiyeva also expressed hope that the book would serve as a symbol of peace and unity among nations, cultures, and peoples, especially in this International Year of Peace and Trust.

Markets are adorned with fresh produce, sparkling globes, garlands, toys, candles, Christmas trees, and other gifts that capture the festive spirit. Modern greenhouses in Gyzylarbat, Magtymguly, Bereket districts, as well as in the cities of Balkanabat and Turkmenbashi, supply fresh vegetables and greens for the shelves of mobile trade points. High-quality meat, dairy products, vegetables, and fruits are sold at affordable prices. Beautifully packaged New Year gifts attract considerable interest from buyers.
To meet public demand, the Balkan Regional Consumer Societies Union has opened more than 100 mobile trade points across all districts and cities of the region. These mobile shops will operate until January 3, 2026, according to the «Türkmenistan» newspaper.
