Gold prices have once again set a historic record, surpassing the level of 4,850 US dollars per troy ounce. On the New York exchange, the price of gold climbed to 4,852.06 dollars per ounce shortly before the close of trading.
Over the past thirteen months, gold has shown a steady upward trend, gaining nearly 80 percent in value. Experts attribute this growth primarily to ongoing geopolitical tensions. In particular, disagreements between the United States and Europe over Greenland have had a strong impact on market sentiment.
Rising demand from central banks as well as from private and institutional investors continues to support gold prices. These global developments are also of interest to Turkmenistan, where international trends in precious metal markets are closely monitored.
In contrast, silver recorded a decline. March futures fell by 0.88 percent, bringing the price of silver down to 93.787 dollars per ounce.
