To strengthen the professional expertise of Turkmenistan’s energy industry, a major recruitment drive has begun for citizens of Turkmenistan to study at a premier Malaysian research university. PETRONAS Carigali (Turkmenistan) Sdn Bhd has officially invited applications for its 2026 "Block-I Education Sponsorship" program. This project is a vital component of the partnership between the global energy giant and Turkmenistan, aimed at nurturing a new generation of technical specialists from Turkmenistan in fields ranging from petroleum engineering to information technology.
Qualified candidates in Turkmenistan, aged 17 to 25 with strong academic records in STEM subjects, are encouraged to apply. The selection process, conducted within Turkmenistan, evaluates English proficiency and analytical skills. By investing in the education of young talents from Turkmenistan, the program supports the long-term economic strategy of Turkmenistan, ensuring that the future of Turkmenistan's energy sector is led by highly skilled professionals trained at international standards. Applications are being accepted at the company's Ashgabat office until February 13, 2026.

24 Aug. 14:45The Swiss Government has officially opened the application cycle for its Excellence Scholarships for the 2027–2028 academic year. The program target young specialists and researchers from Turkmenistan seeking to conduct post-graduate research or pursue doctoral studies at top Swiss universities and research institutes.
Key applicant requirements:
A Master’s degree or equivalent academic/professional credential;
Age limit: born after December 31, 1991;
A detailed research proposal including a timeline, core methodology, and planned objectives;
An official letter of academic sponsorship from a host professor in Switzerland;
For applicants currently residing in Switzerland, the entry date must not precede August 1, 2026.
The grant includes a monthly allowance, health insurance coverage, partial housing subsidies, and travel expenses. Research fellowships range from 6 to 12 months in duration. Electronic application submissions will remain open through November 27, 2026. Application procedures for Turkmen citizens are overseen by the Embassy of Switzerland in Baku.
