President Serdar Berdimuhamedov highlighted this commitment in his greeting to the participants of the "Agro Pack Turkmenistan – 2026" international exhibition. The President noted that establishing a robust food security framework is essential for the nation’s overall stability and the health of its citizens.

The government is currently implementing medium- and long-term programs designed to create resilient food production cycles and introduce efficient agricultural management techniques. These initiatives focus on the comprehensive modernization of the agricultural complex, utilizing scientific advancements to optimize resource use. The goal is to sustain a steady supply of locally produced goods while reducing reliance on external markets.

International collaboration plays a vital role in Turkmenistan's agricultural strategy, particularly its strengthening partnership with the UN and the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). Efforts are being channeled into the technological re-equipment of the processing industry to enhance product competitiveness. By aligning national production with international standards, Turkmenistan aims to integrate more deeply into the global food trade network.

The private sector has emerged as a major contributor to the country's food self-sufficiency. With significant state support, local producers have made substantial gains in greenhouse farming, livestock, and poultry sectors. Today, private enterprises lead the way in processing meat and dairy products, as well as manufacturing beverages and confectionery. This entrepreneurial growth is instrumental in fostering a diverse and flourishing domestic food market.
