In line with the regional development strategy of Turkmenistan, eight significant industrial and infrastructure projects are scheduled for completion in the Lebap province by the end of 2026. This announcement was made during a cabinet meeting chaired by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov in Turkmenabat. The ongoing construction activities are part of a broader effort to modernize the nation’s production capacity and enhance the living standards of the population in the eastern region through strategic industrialization.

A centerpiece of this year's industrial expansion is the construction of a massive gypsum board and dry mix plant in the city of Dostluk. Operated by the "Türkmengips" joint venture, the facility is designed to produce 250,000 tons of dry construction mixtures and 20 million square meters of gypsum board annually. Furthermore, the Ministry of Energy is actively upgrading the regional power grid, including the installation of new substations and high-voltage lines to support the growing industrial demands and residential needs of the province.

The chemical sector is also witnessing substantial investment, particularly at the Turkmenabat Chemical Plant named after S. Niyazov. A new production complex is currently under construction, aimed at yielding 350,000 tons of superphosphate and 100,000 tons of ammonium sulfate fertilizers per year. Once operational, this facility will play a crucial role in ensuring national food security by providing high-quality mineral fertilizers to the agricultural sector while also increasing the country’s export potential in the global chemical market.

During the meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized that the timely and high-quality completion of these projects is a top priority for the government. He instructed Vice Prime Minister B. Annamammedov to oversee the final stages of construction personally and to ensure that all operational standards are met. Additionally, the President called for the continued modernization of the provincial road network, highlighting that efficient transportation infrastructure is essential for the sustainable economic development of Lebap and the integration of its new industrial hubs.
