Cotton farmers in Babadaykhan district lay the foundation for a bountiful harvest
20 Feb. 12:24In the fields of the Babadaykhan district of Ahal province, preparations for the upcoming spring cotton sowing are gaining momentum. This year, the region's farmers plan to cultivate this valuable industrial crop on 24,000 hectares. Guided by state programs and national agricultural strategies, local workers are working diligently to complete all preparatory stages in line with agro-technical standards.
Current activities include land leveling and the systematic application of mineral and organic fertilizers across the district. Significant emphasis is placed on seed quality and the maintenance of agricultural machinery. Experts from the "Obahyzmat" enterprise have already prepared 50 modern, high-performance seeders for the season. Leading producers and award-winning specialists like mechanic Begench Kitjayev and experienced tenant farmer Hojaberdi Berdiyev are inspiring the younger generation with their exemplary work.
In addition to field cultivation, large-scale efforts are underway to clean irrigation canals and remove wild shrubs along the field borders to ensure efficient water flow and pest control. To protect the future crops, bio-laboratories specializing in breeding entomophages have been mobilized, ensuring ecological safety and crop preservation. With the continuous strengthening of the rural technical base and the provision of new foreign machinery, including excavators, bulldozers, and tractors, all tasks are being executed with high precision.
