Following the presidential blessing granted during the Cabinet of Ministers meeting on March 20, agricultural workers have taken to the fields to initiate the planting of the country's "white gold." According to the "Turkmenistan" newspaper, this campaign is a vital part of the nation's economic strategy, providing essential raw materials for the flourishing domestic textile industry.

This year, the selection of cotton varieties has been strategically tailored to the specific climatic and soil conditions of each administrative region. In the Ahal province, farmers are planting medium-staple varieties such as "Yoloten — 7" and "Jeýhun," alongside the premium fine-staple "Yoloten — 14." Similarly, the Balkan province is focusing on high-performance medium-staple seeds to maximize regional yields.

In the northern Dashoguz province, resilient varieties like "Dashoguz — 114" and "F — 149" have been selected for their adaptability to the local environment. Meanwhile, the Lebap province will utilize a diverse range of seeds, including "Garaşsyzlyk — 30" and "S — 2606." The Mary province features the most extensive variety list, incorporating both specialized medium-staple seeds and the high-quality fine-staple "Yoloten — 14," ensuring a robust and versatile harvest.

Equipped with modern machinery and precision farming tools, Turkmen farmers aim to complete the sowing process within the optimal agricultural timeframe.
