Turkmenistan continues to demonstrate steady progress in the agricultural sector. During a regular Cabinet of Ministers meeting held digitally on February 6 and chaired by the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the results of agricultural activities for January were reviewed.

Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers T. Atahallyyev presented a detailed report on the implementation of seasonal agricultural campaigns across the regions of Turkmenistan. According to the report, agricultural production growth compared to the same period last year reached 109.3%.

Positive dynamics were recorded across all major institutions of the agricultural system of Turkmenistan, including sectoral ministries, state committees, production concerns, and state associations. In parallel, the investment utilization plan was fulfilled at 107.9%, reflecting ongoing efforts to modernize the agro-industrial sector of Turkmenistan.

Seasonal agricultural operations are currently underway throughout the country. Farmers are carrying out maintenance of wheat fields, preparing land plots and seeds for cotton sowing, and implementing water management measures such as filling reservoirs, improving irrigation systems, cleaning drainage channels, and rehabilitating hydraulic facilities.

Following the review, the President of Turkmenistan instructed to further advance the comprehensive development of agriculture, strengthen its technical and material base, and ensure strict compliance with agrotechnical standards and timelines during seasonal fieldwork.
