Winners of the "IT-Intelligence: Digital Test – 2026" Hackathon Announced in Turkmenistan

The Turkmen State Architecture and Construction Institute successfully hosted the national hackathon "IT-Intelligence: Digital Test – 2026" from April 20 to 21. Students from 19 higher and vocational educational institutions across the country participated in this competitive event. Conducted online, the hackathon focused on individual and collective assessments, testing the technical proficiency and innovative problem-solving skills of the participants in the digital sphere.

In the individual category, the Grand Prix was awarded to a student from the Institute of Engineering, Technical and Transport Communications of Turkmenistan for demonstrating exceptional technical knowledge. Students from the Institute of Telecommunications and Informatics and the Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs secured first-place honors. The prize list also featured participants from various specialized universities, highlighting a nationwide trend toward advanced digital literacy among the youth.

The team standings saw the Institute of Telecommunications and Informatics of Turkmenistan claim the overall Grand Prix, underscoring their leadership in the field of modern information technology. Other top performers included teams from the International University of Oil and Gas named after Yagshygeldi Kakaev, the International University for the Humanities and Development, and the host institution, showcasing the collaborative spirit of the academic community.

The winners were officially recognized with honorary diplomas presented by the organizing university. This hackathon serves as a crucial element in Turkmenistan’s efforts to foster a tech-savvy generation capable of driving the nation’s digital transformation. By providing a platform for academic excellence and practical application, the event has solidified its role as a premier competition for aspiring IT professionals in the region.

















Entrance Examinations for Higher and Secondary Vocational Institutions Completed in Turkmenistan

Turkmenistan has officially concluded its admission campaign for higher and secondary vocational educational institutions for the 2026–2027 academic year. Held between July 13 and August 24, 2026, the examination process was conducted under state commission oversight and public supervision. Notably, entrance exams at the S.A. Niyazov Turkmen Agricultural University and the International University of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs were administered using a standardized testing format.

Following the examination results, over 18,000 applicants were admitted to higher education institutions. Under the newly implemented "Strategy for the Development of Higher Professional Education in Turkmenistan for 2026–2052," several new academic tracks were established across specialist, bachelor's, and master's degree levels, aligning with the "Atlas of Future Professions." Priority admission status was granted to international competition winners, top athletes, and high school medalists.
