Winners of the International Internet Olympiad on Strength of Materials Announced in Turkmenistan
27 Mar. 10:56The Turkmen State Architecture and Construction Institute recently hosted the award ceremony for the 5th Open International Internet Olympiad on the subject of "Strength of Materials." This major academic event brought together students from various higher education institutions across Turkmenistan and abroad. Marking its fifth consecutive year, the Olympiad has become an increasingly popular platform for fostering technical excellence and academic collaboration among the next generation of engineers.
According to the "Turkmenistan: Golden Age" news agency, this year's competition featured 877 students from 63 universities across 15 different countries. The diverse participant base included students from Australia, Germany, Romania, the United States, Malaysia, China, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Uganda, and beyond. The digital format allowed participants from across the globe to compete simultaneously, solving complex engineering problems in real-time.
Students from Turkmenistan’s universities performed exceptionally well, securing a total of 106 prizes. The winners represented prestigious local institutions, including the Turkmen State Architecture and Construction Institute, the Institute of Engineering, Technical and Transport Communications, and the State Energy Institute. These achievements highlight the robust quality of engineering education in Turkmenistan and the commitment of local students to mastering fundamental scientific disciplines.
Among the international participants, 165 students were recognized as winners or prize-holders. Students from China achieved remarkable success, taking home 101 prizes. High results were also recorded by students from Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Romania, Malaysia, and even Uganda. The organizing institute expressed its sincere gratitude to international academic partners whose active support was instrumental in the successful execution of this large-scale scientific gathering.

Entrance Examinations for Higher and Secondary Vocational Institutions Completed in Turkmenistan
24 Aug. 18:38Turkmenistan has officially concluded its admission campaign for higher and secondary vocational educational institutions for the 2026–2027 academic year. Held between July 13 and August 24, 2026, the examination process was conducted under state commission oversight and public supervision. Notably, entrance exams at the S.A. Niyazov Turkmen Agricultural University and the International University of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs were administered using a standardized testing format.
Following the examination results, over 18,000 applicants were admitted to higher education institutions. Under the newly implemented "Strategy for the Development of Higher Professional Education in Turkmenistan for 2026–2052," several new academic tracks were established across specialist, bachelor's, and master's degree levels, aligning with the "Atlas of Future Professions." Priority admission status was granted to international competition winners, top athletes, and high school medalists.
