Winners of Cultural Art Competition Honored at Iranian Cultural Center in Ashgabat
05 Jul. 07:31The Cultural Center of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Ashgabat hosted an official awards ceremony for the laureates of a joint fine arts competition, paired with the formal release of a Turkmen translation of an encyclopedic book on Iranian national cuisine. According to the news dispatch released by the "Turkmenistan: Altyn Asyr" electronic newspaper, the bilateral event was structurally engineered to strengthen historical neighborhood bonds. The artistic gathering was closely attended by prominent Turkmen painters, veteran masters of fine arts, and independent amateur creators.
During the opening plenary portion of the assembly, individual strategic addresses were delivered by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Iran to Turkmenistan, Ali Mojtaba Rouzbehani, the Cultural Counselor, Abdulreza Abbasi, and the Chairman of the Union of Artists of Turkmenistan, Charymyrat Yazmyradow. The executive speakers highly valued the current performance metrics of the bilateral humanitarian dialogue. They highlighted that these artistic forums optimize professional knowledge-sharing pathways between the creative communities of both modern states.
The primary operational highlight of the evening focused on summarizing the results of the competitive art exhibition, themed entirely around the historic concepts of mutual friendship and fraternity connecting the two societies. Over 50 original paintings and canvas designs were formally submitted to the evaluation boards. To secure maximum neutrality during adjudication, an expert panel of judges analyzed the entries across two separate, independent tracking brackets: professional masters and amateur participants.
Based on the definitive assessment of the submitted artworks, the jury selection committee confirmed three primary winners within each competitive category. Additionally, the event's executive organizing committee created and distributed two special honorary awards to identify the most creative thematic compositions. The top awardees were presented with Certificates of Honor and cash prizes, while every participating artist involved in the exhibition received a commemorative diploma.
Another structural component of the diplomatic evening featured the official rollout of the specialized cookbook detailing Iranian gastronomy, published in the Turkmen language for the first time. The new volume contains explicit preparation formulas, raw material proportions, and step-by-step methods for over 100 traditional national recipes managed by the Iranian people. This joint publication project is designed to advance ethnographic awareness among Turkmen readers regarding the culinary heritage of the neighboring nation.
