During the opening ceremony of the joint international events “Turkmentel-2025” and “International Transport and Logistics Corridors: Connectivity and Development-2025”Deputy Prime Minister Mammetkhan Chakiyev delivered a keynote address.

He emphasized the strategic significance of the forum for strengthening global partnerships and thanked participants for their readiness to share innovative ideas and advanced technologies fostering cooperation in transport and communications.

Digital Transformation and Infrastructure

Chakiyev highlighted Turkmenistan’s ongoing national programs aimed at modernizing the economy, developing advanced transport systems, expanding the digital landscape, implementing E-Government, and integrating artificial intelligence and cloud technologies.

Geo-Economic Potential and Integration

According to the Deputy PM, Turkmenistan’s advantageous location makes it a vital hub for international transit. The development of East–West and North–South corridors plays a key role in expanding trade and economic ties across Eurasia.

Arkadag — The Smart City Example

Chakiyev cited Arkadag City as a model of the country’s digital progress. The city widely uses 5G, eco-friendly, and intelligent ICT solutions.
“The launch of 5G this year, marking Arkadag’s second anniversary, symbolizes a new phase in Turkmenistan’s digital evolution,” he said.

International Cooperation and Investment Climate

Participation of more than 80 foreign companies and 350 delegations reflects Turkmenistan’s growing attractiveness for international investors — a result of its “open-door policy” and stable legal and economic environment.

The Deputy PM reaffirmed the country’s openness to new investment initiatives aimed at elevating Turkmenistan’s status among leading digital economies.

Turkmenistan sharply boosts soft drink exports to Kazakhstan

From January to October 2025, mutual trade between Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan amounted to 404.7 million US dollars, according to data published by the Kazakh analytical platform LSM.

During the ten-month period, Turkmenistan significantly increased its exports to the neighboring country. Export volumes rose 2.3 times to 242.5 thousand tons, while their total value reached 156.3 million dollars. The most dramatic growth was recorded in the soft drinks sector, where shipments expanded more than eightfold. Exports of sulfuric acid increased by 4.1 times, and deliveries of household detergents grew by 31%.

Meanwhile, Turkmenistan’s imports of goods and services from Kazakhstan totaled 248.3 million dollars during the same period, marking a slight decrease of 0.9% year-on-year. At the same time, the physical volume of Kazakh exports to the Turkmen market increased by 29%, reaching 266 thousand tons.
