A high-level diplomatic meeting took place at the headquarters of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) in Vienna. The Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Austria, Hemra Amannazarov, met with UNIDO Director General Gerd Müller to discuss modernizing industrial frameworks and expanding bilateral socioeconomic alignment.

During the consultation, the officials exchanged views on the current milestones and future vectors of cooperation, focusing heavily on industrial diversification, the adoption of frontier technologies, and human capital development. The discussion centered around implementing technical assistance programs designed to accelerate sustainable economic growth and aid the country in achieving its strategic Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Special emphasis was placed on the evolution of "green" industries, reducing carbon footprints in production, and sharpening the global competitiveness of Turkmenistan's manufacturing sector. The Turkmen diplomat reiterated Ashgabat’s firm commitment to a comprehensive economic restructuring process, which prioritizes transitioning heavy and light industries toward eco-friendly international standards.

The Director General of UNIDO welcomed Turkmenistan’s progressive environmental and economic initiatives, reaffirming the organization’s strong interest in cementing its operational presence in the country. He stated that UNIDO is prepared to launch targeted joint initiatives focused on transferring advanced technological know-how, optimizing supply chains, and reinforcing long-term sustainable industrial progress.
