At the "Turkmentravel – 2026" international exhibition currently underway in the Turkmen capital, the Uganda Tourism Board presented its national travel potential for the first time. The African delegation introduced unique itineraries featuring the source of the Nile and the continent's untouched wilderness. Uganda aims to attract travelers from Turkmenistan by offering distinctive alternatives to conventional holiday destinations, focusing on adventure and discovery.

The presentation highlighted the region's extraordinary biodiversity as a primary draw for international visitors. Marketing specialist German Olimi emphasized that Uganda offers unparalleled opportunities to observe rare wildlife, such as mountain gorillas, chimpanzees, and giraffes, in their natural habitats. Additionally, the country’s vast freshwater systems provide a scenic backdrop for specialized water tours catering to high-end adventure seekers.

Beyond its natural attractions, Uganda is positioning itself as a premier destination for cultural and ethnographic tourism. With over 50 distinct ethnic groups, the nation boasts a rich tapestry of languages, culinary arts, and traditional ceremonies. This cultural wealth allows visitors to engage deeply with authentic African heritage and explore the historical customs that define the local identity.

Uganda's participation in the Ashgabat forum is driven by a strategic objective to establish firm business ties with Turkmen travel agencies. The delegation is focused on creating a framework for bilateral tourism exchange and developing streamlined logistics. The event, held at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry until April 16, serves as a vital platform for fostering long-term international partnerships.
