Effective measures are currently underway to integrate the "Turkmenpost" postal telecommunications company into the Universal Postal Union’s International Postal System (IPS). This development was highlighted during a Cabinet of Ministers meeting on March 27, 2026, by Vice Prime Minister B. Annayev. The connection to this global digital network marks a significant milestone in modernizing Turkmenistan’s postal infrastructure and aligning it with international technical standards.

Connecting to the IPS system will significantly enhance the competitiveness of the country’s postal service. It opens broad opportunities for seamless collaboration with major global e-commerce platforms and facilitates direct partnerships at a new level. The implementation of this digital solution will allow for better tracking of international shipments, automated data exchange between postal operators, and more efficient management of logistics chains, making the service faster and more reliable for users.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, upon hearing the report, emphasized that developing a digital economy and building a modern logistical framework are priority goals for the state. The Head of State noted that modernizing the telecommunications sector is essential for supporting the country's economic growth and enhancing public services. Consequently, he instructed the Vice Prime Minister to continue the systematic work on upgrading postal operations and ensuring the widespread adoption of digital technologies.
