FIFA has released its updated ranking of national football teams following the November fixtures of the 2026 World Cup and 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers.
Turkmenistan’s national squad moved up five places and now holds 137th position with 1087.52 points. The rise is largely due to the team’s victory over Chinese Taipei in the fifth round of the Asian Cup 2027 qualifying stage.
On November 18 in Arkadag, Turkmenistan defeated Chinese Taipei 3–1. Goals for the home side were scored by Rakhman Myratberdiyev (13’), Elman Tagayev (53’), and Meylis Deniev (79’). The visitors’ only goal came from Anj Samuel Kouame.
In Group D of the Asian Cup 2027 qualifiers, Turkmenistan shares the top spot with Thailand. The decisive match between the two teams is scheduled for March 31, 2026, and will determine which one secures a place in the tournament.
Spain, Argentina, and France continue to lead the global FIFA ranking.

FC Barcelona and Spain midfielder Gavi (Pablo Paéz Gavira) is donating approximately €1.3 million to fund the construction of 150 homes for homeless and low-income individuals. The project will take place in his hometown of Los Palacios y Villafranca, located in the province of Seville.
According to Spanish media outlets, the development is designed to shelter around 300 people who face financial difficulties in purchasing or renting a home. The initiative is a purely charitable endeavor funded entirely by the footballer rather than a commercial real estate investment.
Specific details regarding construction timelines and eligibility criteria for housing recipients will be announced in subsequent phases of the project.
