Turkmenistan's economy shows steady growth in first 8 months of 2025

Turkmenistan has demonstrated stable economic growth from January to August 2025, according to preliminary data presented by Deputy Prime Minister Khojamyrat Geldimyradov during a government meeting on Friday.

The country’s GDP grew by 6.3%, while total industrial output increased by 9.9% compared to the same period in 2024.

Retail trade turnover rose by 13.1%, and foreign trade turnover was up by 5.5%. Capital investments from all sources also increased significantly, with a 10.8% rise in total funding absorbed.

Growth was observed across major sectors:

  • Transport and communications: +11%

  • Trade: +9.8%

  • Services: +8.4%

  • Construction: +7%

  • Agriculture: +4.9%

  • Industry: +1.5%

The revenue side of the State Budget was fulfilled at 100%. The average wage at large and medium-sized enterprises increased by 11.9%. Salaries, pensions, allowances, and scholarships were paid on time.

After reviewing the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov instructed the Deputy Prime Minister to take measures to maintain macroeconomic stability and ensure systematic monitoring of production plans by ministries and agencies.

Talwas Yoly Closed Joint-Stock Company and the Oguz Forum & Expo division have officially signed a cooperation agreement with the Turkmen Logistics Association as part of the preparations for the Turkmen–Chinese Business Forum and Exhibition, scheduled for April 28–30, 2026.

 

The signed agreement aims to strengthen cooperation in logistics, transport, export and import sectors, while also ensuring the effective organization of the upcoming international event. Talwas Yoly and Oguz Forum & Expo act as the official organizers of the forum and exhibition, overseeing the full implementation of the project, including the development of the business agenda, organization of the exhibition area, facilitation of B2B and B2G meetings, and coordination of business participation from Turkmenistan and the People’s Republic of China.

 

The forum is expected to become a major international platform for expanding trade and economic cooperation between Turkmenistan and China, establishing direct business contacts between specialized companies, and presenting Turkmenistan’s export and investment potential.

 

As part of the partnership with the Turkmen Logistics Association, special participation conditions have been introduced for its members. Association members will receive a 10% discount on participation in the Turkmen–Chinese Business Forum and Exhibition 2026. This initiative is designed to support national logistics companies, enhance their international visibility, and strengthen Turkmenistan’s role as a key regional transport and logistics hub.

 

The signed cooperation agreement highlights the strategic importance of the forum and reinforces its position as a catalyst for international business collaboration.
